VINCI Airports and Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) have launched sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) services at Toulon Hyères airport in France.
Holding the fuelling contract at the VINCI-operated airport, WFS will offer SAF to commercial and business aviation companies operating at the airport.

The SAF is produced from used cooking oil and will be distributed in a 30% blend with conventional kerosene.
For distributing the green fuel, the companies will use a 100% electric refuelling truck.
The SAF is claimed to reduce nearly 80% of carbon emission (CO₂) emissions over the entire lifecycle compared to fossil fuel.
VINCI Airports aims to decarbonise aviation (scope 3), along with its actions carried out within the scope of its own airport activities (scopes 1 and 2) by providing SAF to air carriers.

By GlobalDataThe firm is currently distributing SAF at its other French airports, including Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne and Grenoble Alpes Isère airports.
The airport operator said that the companies utilising SAF will be entitled to a bonus under the eco-modulation scheme for landing fees.
Toulon Hyères Airport director Basma JARBOUAI said: “This new offer of sustainable aviation fuel with a 100% electric vehicle demonstrates once again VINCI Airports’ commitment to the decarbonisation of air transport, which we are applying here at Toulon Hyères Airport.”
Last month, VINCI Airports said that the majority of its airports in France received higher levels of Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA), a carbon management certification standard for airports.
